Understanding hydraulic & pneumatic systems

Compare the functions and applications in this category, then use the catalogue filters to narrow your requirement. Each topic includes detailed selection information and an enquiry form.

Hydraulic power units

Hydraulic power units supply pressurized fluid to a hydraulic circuit. A typical power pack combines a reservoir, pump and drive with selected filtration, cooling and control components matched to the machine duty.

Actuators, lifting equipment and industrial machinery use HPUs. Simultaneous consumer loads and operating cycles determine the required output.

Hydraulic cylinders and motors

Hydraulic cylinders produce linear force and movement, while hydraulic motors produce rotary motion. Both convert fluid power into mechanical output through components matched to the circuit and load.

Machinery, lifting systems and actuator installations use these devices. Loads, travel and mounting geometry determine the mechanical arrangement.

Accumulators and hydraulic safety blocks

Hydraulic accumulators store energy within a specified pressure-volume arrangement. Associated safety blocks provide defined isolation and protective functions as part of the circuit design.

Hydraulic circuits may use accumulators for selected energy-storage or pressure-management duties. The operating cycle determines the required characteristics.

Hydraulic valves, pumps and manifolds

Hydraulic pumps supply circuit flow, valves control selected circuit functions and manifolds connect components through internal passages. Each component must fit the hydraulic schematic and mechanical interfaces.

Fluid-power systems use these parts for machinery operation and maintenance. Replacement selection depends on the installed circuit and required function.

Hydraulic filtration and oil cooling

Hydraulic filters control selected contamination in a fluid circuit, while oil coolers transfer heat to another medium. Both support fluid condition within the operating requirements of the machine.

Hydraulic and lubrication systems use pressure-line, return-line or separate conditioning arrangements. Contaminant loads and thermal duty influence selection.

Pneumatic preparation and control components

Pneumatic preparation equipment conditions compressed air, while valves and actuators control or convert its energy. Filters, regulators and other components perform separate functions within the pneumatic circuit.

Instrument-air systems and pneumatic machinery use these assemblies to provide the required air quality and operating pressure. Circuit demand determines flow requirements.
