Asset data, monitoring and digital integration
Data-model, historian and monitoring integration enquiries for defined operational use cases.
Asset-data and digital-integration services organize information and connect systems for specified operational uses. Monitoring implementations collect selected signals and present them within an agreed data and application architecture.
Where the service is used
Maintenance, production and engineering teams use these services for asset registers, historians and defined analytics. Available data quality affects achievable deliverables.
Service options and scope
Specify data sources, ownership, interfaces and outputs. Platform licensing, engineering and ongoing operation should be identified separately.
Agree the meaning of each exchanged value
An interface agreement should cover more than the ability to read a tag. Record units, naming, timestamps, status indicators and the asset to which each value belongs. A protocol can carry information while the two applications interpret it differently. Identify the approved data model and any mapping or conversion required, with examples that let the receiving team review the expected meaning before the full integration is commissioned.
Keep lineage visible for calculated or transformed values. The deliverable should explain the source, transformation and update behavior, including how missing or invalid records are represented. Time zones and clock alignment matter when combining events from different systems. Agree the treatment of unavailable information rather than allowing a blank, zero or stale reading to be presented as a current measurement without context.
Use acceptance examples that expose data problems
Prepare representative cases for normal updates, missing records, changes in asset identifiers and interrupted connections. Define the expected output for each case and who approves it. Where historical data are migrated, agree reconciliation checks and the treatment of gaps. A visually complete dashboard can still contain duplicate assets, incorrect units or delayed values, so acceptance should examine the underlying records as well as the display.
Assign responsibility for correcting source data separately from building the interface. Some discrepancies need an asset owner or instrument specialist to resolve them. Record known limitations in the handover and identify which use cases remain unsupported. The integration should not turn an unverified dataset into an apparent engineering conclusion merely by presenting it in a new application.
Identify who maintains the connection after delivery
Specify the owner of tag mappings, connectors, platform updates and ongoing monitoring. Ask for configuration records, export arrangements and instructions appropriate to the approved support scope. List licenses and recurring services needed after handover. If another team must maintain the integration, include the agreed training and documentation so a change to a source system can be assessed without losing the history or meaning of the data.
Asset and data sources
List the assets and data sources to be included, with sample tag registers or anonymized examples where appropriate. Record signal names, units, timestamps, update frequency and available quality indicators. Distinguish live measurements, manually entered values, calculated signals and historical records. Identify who can explain the source and approve its interpretation. A project may need to reconcile duplicated asset identifiers or inconsistent units before connecting a dashboard; receiving a readable value does not prove that it describes the intended equipment or condition.
Use case and deliverables
Define the operational question the integration should answer and who will use the result. An asset register, condition dashboard, historian connection and maintenance-system interface have different deliverables. Specify the required views, reports, data exports and update behavior. Record whether the work includes cleaning historical data, configuring an application or developing an analytical model. Avoid treating a dashboard demonstration as evidence of validated fault prediction or a safety function. The acceptance scope should match the stated use case and the evidence available from the actual data.
Existing platforms
Identify the source and destination platforms, relevant versions, approved interfaces and any existing connectors. State which application owners will provide documentation and test access through their normal controls. Ask whether the proposed interface requires additional software rights, gateways, subscriptions or changes to the existing environment. Distinguish communication compatibility from agreement on the meaning of the data. Include retention and export requirements so the proposal can address storage, historical access and transfer to another approved system without assuming that every connector includes those capabilities.
Security and data ownership
State the owner's rules for permitted data use, access, hosting and retention. Define which party owns source records, transformed datasets, configurations and any developed models. Identify the approved arrangements for external personnel and for returning or removing project copies. Operational data can reveal sensitive plant information, so an initial enquiry should describe interfaces without sharing credentials or unrestricted system exports. Security review and authorization remain with the asset owner; purchasing a monitoring service does not authorize an unapproved connection to the control environment.
How related requirements differ
Concept, FEED and detailed engineering: Concept engineering defines and compares project approaches, FEED develops a selected design basis and detailed engineering produces specified construction or procurement deliverables. Each stage has different inputs and maturity requirements. Specify deliverable lists, disciplines, design responsibility and review process. Procurement support and site services should be identified separately.
Process safety and reliability studies: Process-safety studies examine defined hazards and protective arrangements, while reliability studies evaluate specified performance and availability questions. Their methods and deliverables depend on the project's decision needs. Define study boundaries, methodology, participants and outputs. Action closeout and engineering implementation are separate responsibilities unless included.
Automation integration and commissioning: Automation integration connects control functions, interfaces and software within a defined system architecture. Commissioning verifies specified functions and supports the agreed transition to operation. Define functionality, interfaces, tests and handover records. Hardware supply, licensing, programming and site support should have separate boundaries.
Compare the complete service proposal
For asset data, monitoring and digital integration, compare the stated work, personnel, equipment and deliverables before comparing the headline price. A proposal may exclude preparation, access equipment, consumables, standby time or completion documentation. Identify these boundaries in the same way for each offer. The project location and work window should be explicit, together with the required qualifications for the particular assignment. Oillinko receives the enquiry and coordinates clarification with you; the actual service arrangement and the suitability of the proposed specialist are reviewed for the project.
Questions before requesting a quotation
What information should be available first? Start with the intended application and the current technical specification for asset data, monitoring and digital integration. In this category, the initial review includes asset and data sources, use case and deliverables, existing platforms, security and data ownership. Attach the relevant drawings or scope documents and identify any information still awaiting confirmation. This makes it possible to distinguish a preliminary enquiry from a fully defined purchasing or service requirement.
Does a service listing confirm that a contractor is already appointed? No. The listing describes a scope that can be submitted to Oillinko for review. The proposed specialist, location coverage, qualifications, work boundaries and commercial terms are checked for the actual enquiry. Equipment rental, personnel and complete execution should not be assumed to be included together unless the proposal expressly states that scope.
